Vietnam Visa Free for Irish Citizen

Good news for all Irish travellers to Vietnam. No more queues at the Embassy or consulate of Vietnam prior to departure. In order to fast-track visa processing time, the Vietnam Immigration department in the Ministry of Public Security introduced the e-Visa. This simply means that an Irish citizen with a valid passport can apply online for a visa.

The way it works is that an agency appointed by the Immigration department receives the written application via email. This saves the traveller a trip to the embassy and the delays that may ensue. It also means that one can apply for a visa at any time of day or night or during the holidays. Upon approval of the application, a confirmation letter is sent via email. All the traveller has to do is print it and proceed to his or her flight.
