What is the Vietnam e-Visa?
The Vietnam e-Visa is one of many visa types offered by the Vietnamese Immigration Department to foreigners who wishes to enter the country. The e-Visa is valid for 30 days maximum and is a single-entry visa only. It takes approximately 2-3 business days to process the visa (although there is also the emergency visa if you need it urgently). Details about the Vietnam e-Visa:
- The e-Visa is a single entry-visa
- It is valid for 30 days, from the proposed date of entry indicated on the application
- Applicants may stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 30 consecutive days after the initial entry date
- Once the 30 days has passed, and applicants wish to stay for a longer period of time, it is necessary to renew the e-Visa. E-Visa holders in Vietnam may be able to get a new visa if being invited/guaranteed by authority/organization/individual in Vietnam in accordance with the Law on foreigners entry into, exit from, transit through and residence in Vietnam
- Minors with their own passport must also obtain an e-Visa. Minors under the age of 14 must be included on their parent’s e-Visa application.
- Applications must carry a copy of their e-Visa at all times during their stay in Vietnam
- Foreigners entering Vietnam must comply with the Vietnamese law

- A photo in .jpg format of your full passport data page.

- An email address where the visa will be sent to
- Your entry and exit dates, and entry and exit points/airports
Conditions for being granted a Vietnam e-Visa
- Outside Vietnam foreigners
- Must have a valid passport
- Must not fall into the case of suspension from entry prescribed in Article 21 of Law on foreigners entry into, exit from, transit through and residence in Vietnam
How do I receive the Vietnam e-Visa after applying?
After you have applied for your Vietnam e-Visa online, a confirmation will be sent to your email. In the confirmation, it will say when the e-Visa will be delivered to you.

When you have arrived in Vietnam, please go directly to the passport control counter and submit your passport and your printed e-Visa to the officer. The officer will then check and issue the entry stamp into your passport.

Do I need to queue at the Visa on Arrival counter in Vietnam?
