Applying for a Vietnam e-Visa
What is the Vietnam e-Visa?
The e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization which allows citizens from eligible countries, including the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, and many European nations, to enter Vietnam for tourism and for other purposes. The permit allows you to stay in Vietnam for up to 30 days.
Applying for an e-Visa is quick and straightforward. All you need to do is enter basic information, such as personal details like name, address, date of birth and travel document information. The entire process only takes a few minutes to complete.
After you’ve completed the online application, it takes about 24 hours to process. On rare occasions, it can take up to 72 hours for applications to be approved so travelers should apply in advance, at least 3 days before the trip in case something happens.
Who is eligible for Vietnam e-visa?

How to get an online e-visa
Usually, it takes no longer than 72 hours to receive your e-visa, although there are rare occasions when it may take longer, such as during public holidays for example. If your application is incomplete or contains errors, it will also take a longer time. The e-Visa is sent to applicants by email, so be sure that you state the correct information. Travelers should then print a copy of the e-visa to present to the border authorities on arrival.
The information that was provided on the Vietnam e-visa application is screened, using security databases in order to pre-identify any potential public safety threats to the country. Therefore, applicants need to provide a range of information such as passport details, issue/expire date, etc.
It is obligatory to answer all the questions accurately in order to avoid rejection of the application or delays in receiving the e-visa. In order for your e-visa application to be processed, you must pay an e-visa fee that can be payable by credit or debit card.
